Pants Tour: A Roaring Success
Glenn just got back from the UK after four great days touring bookshops in London and three fantastic days at the Edinburgh Literary Festival. The events were a huge success, and Glenn thoroughly enjoyed meeting the many boys, girls, parents and teachers who turned out for the shows.
The bookshops completely sold out of all Glenn's books and the lines of people queuing up to say hullo and get books signed stretched halfway across to shop! Plus, he got to dress up in a bear costume and terrorize kids from all over Scotland. Brilliant way to spend a weekend!
Sorry to those who missed out getting their Pants signed at the festival, but if you buy a copy at another shop and drop me a line via e-mail, I'll be happy to mail you a signed postcard that you can stick into it.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the events such a great success - including everyone who came to see the show, and especially those who bravely took the stage for the live demonstrations and experiments in Edinburgh. A special shout out to Dan, the impressively-courageous bear-attack victim, and Robbie - who summoned a burp so out of proportion to his small size that it literally stunned the crowd on Tuesday morning.
Hope to see you all again next year, if not before!
Free Burp books via the BookedUp project!
Beginning this month, every year 7 student in the UK will have the chance to get a free copy of How Loud Can You Burp?, via the BookedUp project! BookedUp is a national programme run by the Booktrust organization and supported by the UK government's Dept for Schools, Children and Families. From September 1st, every year 7 pupil in England will receive one of 12 specially selected book titles, free of charge. All you have to do is fill out an order form provided by your teachers at school.
Last year, over 672,000 children received free books from BookedUp. All 12 books are great reads, so take your time and choose carefully which one you want. But naturally, we're hoping lots of boys and girls will decide that Burp is best!
You can find out more about the project at the official website, click here
